Recommended charging flow at Tesla Superchargers
Non-Tesla Vehicles
For non-Tesla vehicles, charging sessions must be initiated through the Northe app:
- Open the Northe app.
- Find and select the Tesla charging station.
- Start the charging session in the app.
- Connect the charging cable to your vehicle.
- Charging will begin and the session will be processed through Northe.
Important: Start the charging session in the Northe app before connecting the charging cable to your vehicle. If the cable is connected first, the charging session may not start correctly.
Tesla - Automatic charging
Some Tesla vehicles and accounts support setting a preferred payment method for charging. If Northe can be configured as your default payment method, you may be able to use Tesla's Autocharge experience while having all charging sessions processed and invoiced through Northe.
Step 1. Active your Northe charge key (RFID) on your Northe account
Step 2. Add your Northe charge key (RFID) in the Tesla app:
- Open the Tesla app.
- Tap your profile name.
- Go to Wallet.
- Tap Add in the top-right corner.
- Select Add Charging Card.
- Choose Northe from the list of providers.
- Enter a name for the card and your RFID serial number.
- Tap Submit.
Once configured, you should be able to start using Tesla's automatic charging experience, simply plug in your vehicle and charging will start automatically, while having your charging sessions managed through Northe.
Important: If you do not activate your charge key (RFID) on your Northe account first, you may receive an email from Tesla stating that you will receive a confirmation email from Northe. Please note that Northe does not send a separate confirmation email.
Instead, please make sure to activate your charge key (RFID) on your Northe account first, and then add it in the Tesla app again.
If you experience any issues when setting up your Northe charge key as a payment method in the Tesla app, please contact Tesla Support for further assistance.
